Who we are

A partnership born of a shared love for Scripture

TEACH Foundation exists to resource theological education in Haiti — equipping the Haitian church through the Master of Arts in Biblical Studies at Emmaus University.

Our story

It began with three women, a seminary friendship, and a conviction that Haiti's church leaders deserved world-class biblical training.

TEACH founders Shannon Miller, Erin Curtinsmith, and Ann Maouyo met while studying at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. Their common love of theological studies and a desire for global missions brought them together in a partnership to bring theological education to Haiti.

They began their first project together in 2021, along with Dr. Catherine McDowell, to see if they could successfully teach Hebrew in a live digital setting to students in Haiti. Having found success, they developed a graduate-level biblical studies program for the Haitian context. The initial desire was to establish a seminary; however, the instability of the country and the lack of infrastructure made it difficult to pursue this path.

In 2024, the Lord opened the door to bring the MABS program to Emmaus University in Cap-Haïtien. Starting afresh with Emmaus, Ann, Erin, Shannon, and Dr. McDowell became the Biblical Studies department at Emmaus University. TEACH Foundation was formed to resource the MABS program with qualified professors, textbooks, teaching assistants, library resources, Haitian administrators, and more.
